$ 250,000 in STEM scholarships available from the PG&E Foundation
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the PG&E Corporation Foundation have encouraged qualified students to apply for the Better Together STEM scholarship program in the near future.
The Foundation will provide funding in the total amount of $ 250,000 to students pursuing studies in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics âSTEM. The program will award 20 scholarships of $ 10,000 each and 20 scholarships of $ 2,500 each, PG&E and the Foundation said in a press release on Friday.

Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, demonstrated participation and leadership in school and community activities, and financial need. Interested candidates can find out more and apply here. The deadline to apply is June 1 and prices will be announced in August.
Applications are open to high school graduates, current students, U.S. veterans, and returning adults who are PG&E clients at the time of application.
Applicants should plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study for the entire 2021-2022 academic year and seek their first undergraduate degree at an accredited four-year institution in California.
Students enrolled in the following majors are eligible: Engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial, environmental, electrical and / or energy) Computer science, Information systems or Cybersecurity Environmental sciences Support local researchers.
Since 2012, more than $ 6.5 million has been awarded through the Better Together STEM scholarship program to accomplished students based on a combined display of community leadership, personal triumph, financial need, and academic achievement.

In addition to the Better Together STEM scholarship program, the 10 PG&E employee resource groups – the ERGs – and two engineering networking groups – the ENGs – award scholarships to help offset the cost of higher education. .
